I’m always amazed at how glibly they can call out numerous terms and acronyms that obviously have a lot of meaning to them but mean absolutely nothing to me. Although jargon makes communicating more efficient within a particular corporate culture, it certainly does not make it easy for new employees. Consequently, within the training room, jargon must be used only after carefully defining the terms for participants new to the system. Here’s a fun way to make that point: Take the paragraph that follows and place it on a transparency, so that you can show it to the entire room.
